Blue Sea Glass & Balinese Silver
These earrings are large - even bold. The sea glass pieces are about 1¼" long. Cobalt sea glass earrings this size are hard to come by. These pieces of sea glass are from Rincón, Puerto Rico.
I purchased the silver beads in Bali, Indonesia directly from Balinese silversmiths in the silver village of Celuk. Art is part of every day life in Bali. The Balinese have been blessed with an island that has rarely let them down in terms of resources. So they were able to develop artistically with little distraction by survival.
The Balinese people are peace loving, doing business with them is a pleasure. They benefit tremendously from their handicraft industry. The recent terrorist attacks in Bali have not only broken their hearts but have affected them economically as well.
