Indigo Peacock Sea Glass Pendant

This is a piece of English endoday sea glass from the North Sea This is a piece of English endoday beach glass from the North Sea

Swirling blues from indigo to peacock blue make up this beautiful sea glass from England. This is antique sea glass as it dates back to the Victorian age. It comes from what is known as end-of-day or slag glass. In a Victorian era glass factory in England workers would mix scraps of glass together then dump them into the North Sea at the end of the day.

This piece has a glassy area on one side and the price reflects that. It is so hard to tell if it is an impression from an air bubble or a ding mark from being tossed by a wave onto a rock on the shore. It is hard for me to call this a flaw as an artist and beachcomber I don't like hard and fast rules. I find that color glows from the glassy spot and provides a window into the sea glass. I designed this piece so that either side can be worn as the front. Each side is finished with a sea spiral.
