Soft Orchid Sea Glass Pendant
I just love lavender sea glass it has the beauty of a subtly colored orchid. This glass was once colorless and clear. Clear glass made before 1930 was often made with manganese. Over time the manganese reacts in a way with sunlight that will turn this glass a soft violet. Leaving this piece in a sunny spot while not wearing it is highly encouraged as the color will intensify over the years. I have it sitting in a sunny spot in Florida in the meantime. Lavender sea glass is rare in Puerto Rico where this piece was found.
