Considered a rare color, most lavender sea glass started out as clear colorless glass that was made with manganese. When exposed to the sun it gradually turns lavender because of a reaction between the sunlight and the manganese. Sun purpled sea glass is usually very old and may date back to the 1860's.
Findings are the components that hold jewelry together such as ear wires, chains, clasps, and links. I make most of them myself from wire using techniques that have changed little since ancient times.
Elegant, classical earrings with soft lavender sea glass, Swarovski crystal beads and cultured freshwater pearls. I embellished the ear wires with pearls as well which gives these earrings some real sea siren charm. The lavender sea glass is from the Pacific Northwest.
